Located on the main car park in Grazalema, the Meson El Simancon is a great choice for either an afternoon or evening meal. The staff are very friendly and there is an excellent and varied a la carte menu with good quality food at very reasonable prices. The house salad with smoked trout and salmon is worth a taste as well as the venison steaks. There is also the “menu del dia” priced at 12,90€. There is a good selection of both local and Spanish wines and don’t forget to try the home made liquor after your meal known here as “pacharan” (not more than 1 if you are driving though!) The Spanish word for vegetarian is vegeteriano so easy enough to say that you don’t eat meat. 🙂
There is a small outside terrace with good shade (Important in the summer months). Inside has air conditioning and all winter there is a log fire burning.
If you are a larger group of people or eating on the weekend it is well worth sending an email or calling to reserve your table. Meson el Simancon is closed on Tuesdays.
